WOW
amazing pizza and great place to have a good time
One of the best pizza I had. I had New Yorker coil fired and it was awesome. Highly recommended
Honestly, the service wasn't the best. We went on Halloween and the guy behind the bar kept changing his shoes right there. He did it a couple of times, and it wasn't ideal when you're eating 🥣
I came in San Francisco from Italy and I thought it was difficult to find a gluten free pizza outside Italy, instead here's at Tony's Pizza they make it and it's also delicious! It seems like a normal pizza and it was simply the best one I've ever eaten. They serve also gluten free beer and the service is great and very friendly! When I'll return in San Francisco I'll definitely be back here, super!
I arrived here early on a Thursday afternoon, because I've seen on social media how long the lines can be, and I did not want to miss out on Tony's famous Margherita pizzas, which he only makes 73 of daily.

A couple of guys next to me had ordered 3-4 different pizzas, and I figured, I should do the same because I couldn't decide if I should order a Margherita or a New Yorker, so I ordered both.

We ordered calamari as an appetizer, and was given the option of spicy, regular, or both -- so we got both. Each piece was fresh and the serving size was large. Other restaurants always chop up the octopus into unrecognizable shreds, but not at Tony's!

The margherita arrived first and was beautiful. As you bit into the slice, you could tell that each and every ingredient was the highest quality. The basil was fresh and aromatic, the sauce was delicate, the cheese was soft, and even the cornicione was just as soft as the first bite -- light and airy. This is what a pizza should taste like, and now I see why Tony is a 13-time world pizza champion!

Then the humongous New Yorker arrived -- this was a 20" pie cooked in a 1000 degree coal fired oven. It has sausage, small cupped pepperoni, sauce, mozarella, and a dollop of ricotta that possibly had a touch of honey in it; I'm not sure. Either way, if you like large NY slices, this is the pizza to get! It won an award in Vegas (best pizza, if I recall correctly).

The highlight of this visit was that I saw Tony walking in, and I was able to take a photo with him and his wood fired oven, and he autographed my copy of The Pizza Bible.

I also ordered a cannoli to go, and it did not disappoint. I'm not local to SF or CA, but if I were, I would go here at least once a week. It's that good! Another reason to make multiple visits: there are so many types of pizza here, such as grandma, Sicilian, and more.

You need to visit and try Tony's!

We appreciate your five star review!
Came here two days in a row, we had pizza and salad the first night, pasta and salad the second night. Also had the raspberry sorbet. Everything was so good! Our server Gino was amazing! We asked for him our second night also and we couldn’t have been happier!
Thank you so much for coming to dine with us two nights in a row, we appreciate it and will pass along the compliment to Gino! Looking forward to welcoming you back again in the future :)
Great food but overpriced
We appreciate you giving us a try and for the feedback.
Pizza lovers can have a lot of fun with this menu because there are so many different styles to choose from. Instead of focusing on just one type, they offer Neapolitan, New York, Detroit, Sicilian, and other regional versions, each prepared a little differently.

The Margherita is one of the best-known choices, with a soft, blistered crust and simple toppings that let the dough stand out. The Detroit-style pizzas are much heavier and crispier around the edges, while the New York-style slices are a good option if you want something more familiar. We also liked having salads and appetizers to break up all the cheese and crust.

The restaurant is usually busy, but service moves along well and the atmosphere feels energetic rather than chaotic. It’s not the cheapest pizza stop in the city, but the variety and quality make it worth visiting, especially if everyone in the group likes a different style.
