Best Pizza in San Francisco
With all due respect to the restaurant owner, when you order delivery, you receive something completely different, not just once, but repeatedly. This is a recurring mistake.
Great pizza, wing's and cheeseburgers, as long as it's ok if you don't eat pork, apparently the sausage is beef, I'm pretty sure they don't serve anything with Pork, too bad because if they did use Pork sausage I would order from them again, other than that it's a pretty good place to eat.
I Am a loyal custemer I always order there for deliver never had any problems until this one guy started to answer the phone always set my order wrong and today was the last straw i had order a medium pizza half peperonie and half Hawáina and 15 spicie wings and he didn’t send my wings and sent my pizza with hot sauce all over it but i made it clear that i want THE WINGS NOT THE PIZZA spicie and it was drenched in spicie sauce i have never seen anything so disgusting like how do you mess up a pizza that bad and when I called back he insulted me called me names and called me stupid because I couldn’t hear right even though it was him and we got into a heated argument and never sent my right order before i got mad and started to scream back I asked nicely to please send me my right order right and I’ll pay for it and he said no and called me stupid and started to call me name this is unaceptaple he needs to be fired aspa btw I was ordering for my family and he knows me already because I always call back to ask for a new order and never had this problem where he tells me things and never even got my money back don’t but from here please
They're pasta is phenomenal! My favorite is the chicken fetucinni and chicken mushroom sphagetti. And the amount you get for the price is more than worth it. I reccomend this place for sure!
Delicious pizza
Piccolo Italia is permanently tied to one of the stranger and more memorable chapters of living in San Francisco for me.

For a while I lived with a couple roommates in the Tendernob, basically right around Geary and Larkin. And if you know that intersection, you know why that distinction matters.

Walk a couple blocks north and you’re suddenly heading into Nob Hill, where things get dramatically more affluent, polished, and recognizably “nice San Francisco.” But right there around Geary and Larkin, you’re basically standing on the border of the Tenderloin, where things start getting weird very quickly.

Homeless encampments, open drug use, people clearly having a very rough day or night, and all kinds of unpredictable street activity could be happening right outside. Then walk a few blocks and the entire environment changes.

That was the neighborhood.

And directly across the street from where I lived was Piccolo Italia.

The pizza itself was exactly what a neighborhood slice place should be. Cheap, hot, consistently good, and perfect when you just wanted to walk downstairs, grab a couple slices, and go back home. I ate there a ridiculous number of times.

But what makes the place especially memorable to me was watching them operate in that particular environment.

I saw more than a few situations where somebody came in way too drunk, way too high, way too belligerent, or otherwise decided that this little pizza shop was going to become the setting for whatever chaos they were bringing with them.

The guys behind the counter were having none of it.

Those giant wooden pizza paddles apparently doubled as both culinary equipment and an unofficial Tenderloin security system. 😂

There was something incredibly memorable about watching somebody pull a pizza out of the oven, slice it up, ring up a customer, then suddenly have to grab the paddle and make it very clear to somebody causing problems that it was time to move along, and then immediately go right back to making pizza.

It was almost absurdly efficient.

I’m not suggesting “weaponized pizza paddle” should be part of anyone’s official restaurant training manual. But in that location, you definitely got the sense that these guys knew exactly where they were, understood the neighborhood, and knew how to keep their little corner of it operating.

And underneath all of the Tenderloin theater, they were just running a genuinely good neighborhood pizza shop.

Was it the single best pizza I had in San Francisco? No. I had another place I’d rank higher strictly on the pizza itself.

But Piccolo Italia was one of the places I ate at the most, one of the places I remember most vividly, and one of those businesses that became part of what actually living in San Francisco felt like to me.

Cheap slices, consistently good pizza, a front-row seat to the Tendernob, and possibly the most versatile pizza paddles in the city.

Five stars easily.
Chicken slice is the best
I had a bad experience; I ordered a steak sandwich, but they brought me a pizza I hadn't ordered. I called the driver, and he said the owner claimed I had changed the order. I called and spoke to the manager, but he refused to send the sandwich. I’ve been a regular customer, but given that attitude, I won’t be buying from there again.
Best pizza in the city.
