Terrific service and flexible - we came with two more than expected on a very busy evening and they happily accommodated us.

Pizzas are delicious and unusual in their variations!
Great vibes. Tucked away down an alley.
Food was excellent. Loved the meatballs and pizza. Had a chocolate torte for dessert that was to die for.
Sadly, I went there because it looked great online. And it could’ve been. The surrounding area is so scary. My wife refused to go in and within a half a block and with envision of the restaurant everything smelled like urine and feces on the street. Really sorry to say this San Francisco was once a great city and it’s just gone to hell in certain parts.
Good pizza.
We enjoyed a terrific meal here pre-theater. Having just lived in Italy, we can attest to the authenticity of the menu. We had pizza for lunch, so we focused on the antipasti (heirloom tomato’s, meatballs, cheeses), which were all delish—fresh and flavorful. Delightful desserts as well and nice wine options. I am not going to lie: the neighborhood is a bit rough but the food is worth it.
The food was phenomenal! Everything was fresh and well prepared. Adored their traditional antipasto options, full of absolute classics. Even when busy, staff was on top of everything. They even took the time to converse and learn about what brought our group to Cali. Will return!
I ordered the eggplant pinsa and wasn’t very impressed. It was very oily and the main flavor I tasted was the overly fried eggplants. Also I asked for Parmesan and they said they don’t serve Parmesan as a topper, which is so strange for an Italian restaurant.
Lastly, one of the chairs at our table was super uncomfortable.
We stopped here for dinner before seeing a show at the Warfield. This was perfect pre-concert food. Light, delicious crust, nourishing toppings. I didn’t feel heavy or stuffed after dinner. Have a cider with your pinsa for the perfect pre-show meal. I’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic place.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We truly appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you back soon for another great meal. A presto!
Just like Italy, hidden on an alley and full of delightful foods. Great find! Thank you gente!
Thank you! We're so glad you found us and enjoyed your experience. Grazie, and see you again soon!
A gem of a find with unusual and delicious pizzas. It's worth the trip.
Thank you Randy! We're so glad you enjoyed our Roman pinsa. We hope to see you again soon. Grazie!
Have you ever been walking around Rome and tucked into a random ristorante without curb appeal — only to enter a cozy, warm, authentic Old Country world where the priority is insanely delicious, rustic cuisine? Montesacro is exactly that — in an unlikely back alley of SoMa. The best pinsa outside of Italy. Fresh, simple and stupendously high-quality ingredients. Olive oil so fruity and fragrant that it’s all you need for salad dressing. Parmesan from magical cows. Come often. Order everything. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Highly recommended. The pizza was delicious and the place was very cozy. Top-notch staff.
