A place where you truly feel at home! ❤️
We would like to sincerely thank the owner for the wonderful hospitality and welcome he gave us from day one. He greeted us with kindness, helpfulness, and a human warmth that truly makes the difference.
We highly recommend this place to anyone looking not only for a good restaurant (the food is excellent) and accommodation, but also for a sincere, family-like welcome. We will definitely be back!

A very positive experience at the "Il Pergolato" restaurant. Courtesy, plentiful, and top-quality food. I highly recommend it.

I'm giving it 1 point instead of 0 only because the wine was good, the restroom was clean, and the place was overall nice. The rest of the food was a complete disaster, starting with the menu: only one menu for four people, and then another 10 minutes of waiting for two more (three in total) upon request. Flipping through the pages, you realize they offer everything: all kinds of pasta, meat, fish, risotto, desserts. An endless menu that obviously doesn't specify whether frozen ingredients are used. We decided to order two appetizers with cured meats, assorted cheeses, samples of parmigiana, stuffed peppers, and zucchini in oil. Only the last three items and the ricotta were edible; the rest of the cured meats (both prosciutto and salami) and mozzarella were of terrible quality. But now we come to the real sour note of the meal: four of us ordered: a plate of orecchiette, a plate of tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, and two veal fillets with porcini mushrooms, all items listed on the menu. After at least a half-hour wait after the appetizers (if not longer), two of us received our first courses, and my mother and I, who had ordered the fillet with porcini mushrooms, received a fillet with mushrooms. My mother pointed this out to the owner, who, rather than admit his mistake and promptly replace the dish (which is what a serious and honest restaurateur would have done), tried to trick us into believing those were porcini mushrooms, saying he would have asked the chef anyway.
Once he returned, he insisted that the chef cooked the fillets with porcini mushrooms, but used mushrooms as a garnish (no porcini mushrooms were visible). Only when he was told that the person in question was allergic did the gentleman in question decide to take the dish back. Instead of apologizing, he appeared irritated and annoyed, urging us not to argue, not realizing the extremely serious offense he'd committed (it's called a "fraud" and poses a serious danger to customers). At that point, to avoid leaving, we asked for a steak, which arrived accompanied by the chef's apology. We overlooked the fact that it was also almost charred and very tough, and that even the fries were awful. The situation was now beyond repair, so with the sole desire to escape the place as quickly as possible, I ate the fillet, avoiding the mushrooms. When it came time to get the bill, of course, the aforementioned mushrooms were charged at the same price as porcini mushrooms. In total, we spent €77, far too much for such poor service and quality. It's a shame, a place that completely lacks the basics of restaurant management and customer service, but instead tries to mock and treat them as if they're ignorant. Do you really think everyone who comes to you is so stupid and has never been to a high-end restaurant? We stumbled upon it purely by chance because of the positive reviews that we can't quite explain, but it's a place we'll never set foot in again.

It's certainly not cheap.
In any case, the food isn't great. The strascinati are too thick and therefore almost raw, the veal cutlet is anything but tender, and the icing on the cake is that the curtain rods fall on your head—believable but true.
It fell on my daughter's head while she was sitting at the table eating.
The funny thing is that when it was time to pay, when I suggested to him (being a carpenter) how he could fix it easily and cheaply,
he repeatedly repeated, "You're right, you're right..." ignoring me.
What can I say...
he even made us pay for the ice cream of the little girl whose curtain rod fell on her head.
All things considered, I'd say it's a place to avoid.

There's nothing to envy from the renowned restaurants in the Val d'Agri neighborhood, often so in name only: a prime example is the cod, prepared with great care and expertly paired with crusco peppers.
