The best place in the area to stop and enjoy good food and wine.

Food is one of the best in this area. The pork ribs and duck carpaccio with foie gras are out of the world. The food served in fine dining quality. Though the service is a bit slow because the place is soooooo busy. Highly recommended in the heart of this fairytale place

Downtown restaurant.
Open fireplace!
The owner, restaurant manager, chef, and grill master are SUPERLATIVE.
Vertical tasting of porcini mushrooms, fried, roasted, with fettuccine! A panna cotta with salted caramel that's out of this world!
Thank you all!

A nice dining experience in Civita di Bagnoregio, but we expected a little more! 🇮🇹🍷

We visited La Cantina di Arianna during our trip to the beautiful Civita di Bagnoregio, one of the most unique and charming places in Italy.

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and fits perfectly into the historic surroundings. It’s a nice place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal after exploring this incredible medieval village.

As for the food, it was good, but unfortunately didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We tried the pasta, which was nicely presented and enjoyable, but we felt the overall flavours could have been a little more impressive. Nothing was particularly wrong, we simply expected that extra something special from a restaurant in such a memorable location.

Having enjoyed some exceptional meals throughout our Italian road trip, this one didn’t quite stand out in comparison.

That said, it was still a pleasant experience, and the restaurant is definitely worth considering if you’re visiting Civita di Bagnoregio.

Overall, a solid 4 stars! A charming setting and decent food, with some room for improvement in the culinary experience. 🇮🇹

Welcoming place, the waiter was very kind and helpful. We ate excellently: lamb with mixed cooked vegetables and ash-roasted potatoes with fennel. For dessert, strudel with zabaglione and dark chocolate mousse. Everything was excellent.

Above-average restaurant in Bagnoregio (unfortunately, there aren't any excellent restaurants, although the CORTE DELLA MAESTÀ isn't exactly accessible to everyone)... overrated anyway.
We had the much-vaunted chicken leg and thigh, and the meat wasn't cooked properly... why???
Because chicken needs a different height from the grill... instead, they use the same height for all meats... my wife's meat was cooked just right.
Questionable plating... all the vegetables on top of the meat.
Dessert??? A tiramisu, definitely made with fresh ingredients, but it wasn't a tiramisu.
Wine??? The wine we ordered wasn't available...!!!
Too high a value for money.
The water in plastic bottles... enough!!!
Finally... the door to the restaurant was open because the fireplace used to cook the meat was heating the room too much.

They discriminated against Chinese people; the store was clearly empty, but they refused to serve us, claiming it was completely booked.

Ci dispiace molto leggere questa interpretazione dell’accaduto.
Quella sera tutti i tavoli erano già prenotati.
Restiamo disponibili a chiarire direttamente quanto accaduto.

We stopped in for lunch for a quick visit to the Civita. After reporting a delay in service at our table, the entire staff worked hard to bring our dishes as quickly as possible, and we enjoyed a lovely lunch in the sun. The food was very good, and the staff were friendly.

Paccheri with porcini mushrooms, 3 cloves of garlic and lots of cream, praised by the waiter but not present on the menu with a surprise on the final bill, a surcharge added by hand for the freshness of the products... not recommended

La Cantina di Ariana is located in the heart of Civita di Bagnoregio and benefits from the unique setting of this "dying village"—the location alone is worth a visit.

The food was also excellent, and the service was good and friendly.

One small suggestion for improvement: A little more guidance on suitable side dishes (contorni) would have been helpful with the secondi piatti (main courses). As a non-Italian, it's not always clear what is typically ordered with which main course, or whether side dishes are even included—a brief explanation from the server would have been helpful.

Overall, however, a highly recommended restaurant with good food and an unparalleled atmosphere.
