Normally we don’t leave any bad reviews but<br>this one was a real letdown. Probably one of the worst experiences in our gastronomical lives - not based on the food (which was pretty decent) but on hospitality and being treated as a guest.<br>The manager of this restaurant has to be the rudest person in Tuscany. There are so many wonderful people and restaurants in the Chianni region. Avoid this one.
Dear Guest,<br><br>We have read your review with great surprise and disappointment.<br><br>First of all, we would like to clarify one important detail: you did not dine at our restaurant, yet you chose to leave a review evaluating our food and describing your experience as one of the worst gastronomic experiences of your life. We find this rather contradictory.<br><br>During your stay, other guests were also present at our hotel, and we received no similar complaints.<br><br>For over twenty years, Le Vecchie Cantine has welcomed guests from all over the world with professionalism, dedication and genuine Tuscan hospitality.<br><br>We certainly do not claim to be perfect, and we are always willing to listen to constructive criticism. Well, after 3 years in a row in Toscana we have discovered one of the best places to eat. I asked who is cooking so good, the answer was: la signora di casa, che è anche la proprietaria!. So if you want to eat great italian food cooked by a 71 year old lady which also own the busineess, this is ths place to do it. The restaurant is cozy and very italian if may say so. We loved it, grazie! And drink wine, it is Toscana...

Our favourite restaurant in Tuscany! We came back two nights as the food was so delicious and service is incredible. Francesca is amazing, so friendly and welcoming! We would highly this restaurant and make sure to try to the tiramisu, the best ever!! Thank you so much for your hospitality during our stay in Chianni :)

We've become regulars at Vecchie Cantine, which we discovered by chance a couple of years ago, and it never disappoints. Excellent menu, excellent wine, excellent meat, warm service—in short, one of my favorite places!

We had a wonderful evening at Le Vecchie Cantine. The food was excellent and the service absolutely superb. You absolutely must try something with truffles! We'll be back.

A fantastic place! We never tired of trying everything on the menu during our holiday. You can sit outside or inside, the staff is very friendly and competent, and they cater to dietary needs. It's a popular spot for locals, so it's more than just a hidden gem.

Came here with a group of family and friends, large group. Everyone was extremely pleased, especially me! This could very well be my happy place. Wonderful setting outside in an ancient hillside Tuscan village. The food was insane, possibly my favorite plate of Italian pasta that I’ve ever had (ravioli filled with burrata, with the shaved truffles and crumbled pistachio . . . Im pretty sure I heard the heavenly host singing down from heaven during this course 😂). The bistec alla fiorentina, perfect as well. And in particular, if you are interested in the wine this region has to offer, this would be an excellent place to visit and explore. Alessio will steer you to some very good places on his wine list, which is extensive with hyper-local (and hyper-excellent) bottles representative of the area’s terroir. This is truly a place to soak in Chianni and enjoy yourself.

The young male waiter was incredibly rude and unfriendly. The manager was much the same, however the woman was lovely. Unfortunately she wasn’t our server.<br>Won’t ever be back.

We ordered grilled lamb ribs, grilled fillet steak, cacio e pepe pasta and chocolate soufflé. Lamb ribs and steak were one of the most juiciest yet softest that we’ve ever tasted. And chocolate soufflé was the chef’s kiss. 10/10 experience

We ended up here when almost everything else was closed, and what a great surprise! The food was amazing. The cuisson of the steak was absolutely on point, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Definitely a place we’d happily return to.

We had an amazing meal outside here. Ambiance is everything you can possibly picture having dinner in Tuscany atop a quaint mountain village.<br><br>The food pound for pound was as good as the rest of our trip through out Florence and Tuscany. Ravioli with generous shavings of fresh truffle, typical but very well executed home made pastas.<br><br>The florentine steak was excellent but really the star of the show was the suckling pig.<br><br>Easily worth a 30+ minute drive for this meal.<br>With wine, sharing antipasti, pastas and secondi about 40 euro a person.

What a wonderful place, Le Vecchie Cantine in Chianni! With every dish, you can tell that it's cooked with love and tradition – authentic, home-style cooking at a high level, just as you dream of Tuscany. Not only is the pasta (with truffles) homemade and perfect, but all the other dishes are equally impressive, complemented by a fantastic wine list that pairs perfectly. In summer, the ambiance is like a charming Italian piazza, full of character. The interior is equally impressive, with its arched windows and detailed, typically Tuscan atmosphere. The service is warm and attentive, and the owner himself is incredibly friendly, genuine, and always makes time for his guests. An absolute must for anyone seeking authentic, upscale Italian cuisine. Five stars, without a doubt; we are regulars and always love coming back.
