I organized a week of activities for a group of friends. This was the activity I was most excited about and in the end was a huge disappointment.<br><br>The cost was about €70 per person, not cheap- for a tour of the wine museum (very impressive), cheese making facility (was underwhelming), tour of the cellars (beautiful), cheese tasting, wine tasting and lunch.<br><br>Reuben guided us for the wine museum and cheese making and was very animated and a great guide.<br><br>The wine and cheese tasting were disappointing. Neither was guided. The wine was the most measly pour of the week.<br><br>Worse yet was the dietary restrictions communicated were not respected- they serve walnut cheese to my guest with walnut allergies and tried to pass off a plate of potatoes as a meal for the two vegetarians- really embarrassing for the prices they charge.<br><br>The oddest thing of all- they didn’t try to sell us anything. I had guests who wanted to buy wine and cheese and were never given the option. I was ok with not giving FDB more money after they insulted me with a plate of potatoes.<br><br>I won’t be back.<br><br>I have added a timeline of email screenshots to clarify the utter lack of communication on FDB’s end.

We'll be sure to pass your compliments on to him.<br><br>We're sorry that the visit to the Caseificio didn't meet your expectations. As explained before your visit, cheese production at our small artisan dairy begins at around 4 a.m. and does not take place throughout the day. It is therefore not possible to watch the cheesemaking process during regular visiting hours.<br><br>Regarding the dietary requirements, we'd like to clarify a few points. The allergies were mentioned in your initial enquiry in November 2025. After our reply, we did not hear from you again until March 2026, when you contacted us to finalise the arrangements. At that stage, the vegetarian requirements were discussed and a menu of cheeses from our dairy followed by traditional Tuscan ribollita was agreed upon, but the allergies were not mentioned again.<br><br>We acknowledge that the vegetarian guests were initially served potatoes rather than the agreed dishes, and we're sorry for that mistake. Ribollita was subsequently served, but we understand that the initial mix-up was disappointing, particularly as you had made arrangements in advance.<br><br>As for the wine tasting, our wines are normally introduced and explained to guests at the table. The quantities served (5 cl per wine) are tasting portions, clearly specified in our printed materials and online, so guests know what is included before booking. We're sorry that the tasting did not meet your expectations.<br><br>We're also sorry that your friends didn't have the opportunity to purchase the wines and cheeses they were interested in. It was a particularly busy day, with our team attending to a large number of visitors, and we regret that they didn't receive the attention they needed.<br><br>We sincerely regret that your experience left you with such a negative impression of Fattoria dei Barbi. We appreciate the time you took to share your feedback and are sorry that the day did not live up to your expectations.

Wonderful wines. The property is quite rustic with a stone structure, wine bar, and restaurant. Don't expect anything sophisticated. The wines are marvelous. We did a tasting of 3 Brunellos.

A beautiful place where you can taste fabulous wines and eat typical local products. The staff is very kind and helpful.

We had the most fantastic wine tasting this morning. A very knowledgeable, friendly and very kind gentleman explained the Brunello wines in detail. We loved the BRUNELLO di MONTALCINO RISERVA 2019. A fantastic experience!!! Grazie mille.

I went there for a tasting that was very poor. The young woman who served us was kind, but the service wasn't very attentive. We tasted 3 types of wine and honestly, I don't think it's worth it.

We toured the winery, and the guide was very knowledgeable and empathetic, adapting the tour to the situation as there was a group that had their own guide interpreting. It was a very interesting tour; the winery is steeped in history and is worth a visit and a chance to learn about.<br>I also praise Miss Irene, who welcomed us and made us feel at home while we waited. Well done.

I returned to purchase their excellent cheeses and exquisite wine. I was surprised to discover an unparalleled extra virgin olive oil. On my next visit, I will certainly be sure to have lunch at the very elegant restaurant with its tempting menu.

We visited the lunch restaurant at Barbi and it gave a very good impression. Good food and fair prices. Possible to taste will Barbi wines per glass to a fair price. Big place but can only recommend to visit. Good presentation of the wines we ordered for our food
