Messina's culinary tradition is available to tourists and is a must-try for residents too.

We ate the "classic" Messina focaccia; the only thing that was classic was the name. It was reheated incorrectly in some instances and was really too cold. I'm sorry, I wanted to rediscover the flavors of my childhood, but I couldn't. The lady who served us was very kind; I have nothing to complain about, but the product disappointed me.

Very very dirty, stale rice in the arancini, inaccurate prices on the website, arancini price 1.99 on site 2.80 a piece not even good, dirty counter, local. I will not be returning, thanks.

I recently had an arancini at L'Ancora, and I have to say the quality has gone down considerably—a shame, because they used to be delicious.
Full marks, however, for the coffee granita with cream I got at the bar, which I give a solid ten.

I've been coming to Messina for years, and L'Ancora is literally my lifeline for quick, tasty Sicilian-style lunches.

There's no arguing that the arancini are excellent. The problem is the counter staff, whose rudeness is enough to put you off your appetite. And when they're not rude or even aggressive, they still have a bad-boy look that takes away all the joy. I buy my rustici elsewhere from people who greet me with a smile.

Today, after a year, I returned to the anchor, for arancini and focaccia, which until last year were delicious, unfortunately this year I was disappointed, the focaccia no longer exists, they make pinsa 🤢 not to mention the very ugly arancini.... I'm very sorry... go back to the old doughs, it's better

Total disappointment!!!!! Don't call it a Messina-style rotisserie. Don't call it an arancino. I don't recommend choosing it as a restaurant. Messina is something else entirely and offers so many delicacies!!!! A proud Messina native transplanted to the north.

My experience was very negative. I gave it 2 stars because of the atmosphere, but the only redeeming feature is the view from the table.
The bathrooms were terribly clean. I wouldn't recommend it! The rustici were a complete disappointment!
