A truly pleasant experience! A welcoming trattoria, with attention to detail and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Delicious dishes, prepared with quality ingredients and served with care. Friendly and helpful staff, impeccable service. Everything was perfect, from the food to the welcome. This is what a family run real trattoria actually should be. I’ve spent a week in Catania. This is the first authentic place I have found. (!) Which kind of amazed me. The quality for a foodie like me is generally very poor. But not here guys. Simple can be good and bad. Here - it’s good. Just go here and get the seefood you want, they grill it for you. It’s awesome. Basta cosi.
I chose a €35 menu, where I wasn't given the option of choosing the main courses as described, but they brought me two first courses of their choice. I pointed out this unpleasant situation and the response was: "You didn't tell us anything" (the next table was asked what kind of first course they wanted). When I refused to eat their pasta, they brought me a plate of clams, my choice (clams with a grit you could chew with your teeth), to make up for it. But at the end of the bill they added the cost of the dish. Being treated this way was truly unfair.<br><br>Regarding the food, everything was good, good quality. Only the calamari was not good.<br><br>Wonderful appetizers.<br>Really good seafood pasta.

A pleasant dinner<br>The restaurant is well air-conditioned and well-distributed. The food is excellent, and the fish is incredibly fresh. The staff is welcoming, and the service is prompt. I recommend booking, as in August it's only open in the evenings.

For years always the best you always go safe...
I came with my kids, and they gave it a perfect score. I wouldn't disagree with their assessment: the food was good, plentiful, and of high quality. The house wine was beautifully served, and the price was definitely fair. I've eaten at other places that offered set menus for €35, but Serafino beats them all. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family, and it's a must-try if you're passing through Catania.
